My name is Jade Chaloux. I was born and raised in Berlin, NH, but now I live in Oakland, California. I graduated from Berlin Senior High School in June, 2000. After a year in the real world with no higher education in 2001 I applied to Lyndon State College with a concentration in Graphic Design and Communications.
After graduation in May, 2006 I completed an internship at Positronic Design in Holyoke, MA. I was hired as a contracted designer after completing 300 hours. I stayed at Posi for a year and a half before making the decision to pack up my life and move across the country. I want to experience more than New England.
My decision to become a Graphic Designer was influence by my artistic talents. At the age of seven, my mother sent me for private art lessons with the High School art teacher. I continued with the private lessons all through grammar school and continued to take art classes in High School. I developed skills in many mediums. I first started with drawing. Once I developed those skills I moved on to painting. Beginning with water colors and understanding how the color wheel works. I then moved on to oil painting. I enjoyed this medium. Working with colors, mixing to create my own, and just having the freedom to do what I want. I also experimented with pastels, origami, sculpture, pen and ink, torn paper, ceramics, pointillism, crayon, color pencils and many more. |
